Synopsis

Octobre 1925. L’ingénieur Carl Akerblöm, fervent admirateur de Schubert, est interné à l’asile psychiatrique d’Uppsala. Depuis sa chambre, il nourrit le projet révolutionnaire d’inventer le cinéma parlant. Avec l’aide du professeur fou Osvald Vogler, Akerblöm s’improvise metteur en scène d’une histoire d’amour relatant les derniers jours de Schubert.
